Importance of Family Dinner Together! - Busy each family member causes infrequent meals together, including at night. Yet, together at the time the meal is very important and good for the mental development of children.

According to CASA (Centre of Addiction and Substance Abuse), research has consistently shown that the more often teens had dinner with his family, about 5 times a week, it will be the less likely they are to smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs.

The study also showed that teens want to have more time with his family, where more than a quarter of them desiring more frequent family dinners.

Eating together is not just giving them a chance to get food, but more than that. Some of the benefits of eating together, including:

Performance of the children do better in school
According to a 2005 study at Columbia University, kids who eat with their families also have more positive attitudes about their future.

Increased communication.
Dinner with the family to provide opportunities for communication. Conversation during the meal provide opportunities for families to bond and connect with one another.

Develop social skills.
Eating together also helps children develop good social skills as they learn to be good listeners, and patiently wait while someone else is talking. They also became curious about other people not just focus on yourself.

Structure and routine.
Routines help children discover the organization and stability in their family life. Regular family meals give children a sense of the normal and they can enjoy these moments every day.
